The National Women's Business Council is a bi-partisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners. The Council's mission is to promote bold initiatives, policies and programs designed to support women's business enterprises at all stages of development in the public and private sector marketplaces -- from start-up to success to significance.

NWBC Honors Outgoing Members

Two members of the National Women’s Business Council completed their three-year terms of service in May.  E. Jean Johnson, LegalWatch, and Sheri Orlowitz, Shan Industries, LLC, were both honored by NWBC Chair Tami Longaberger for their commitment to advancing women's business ownership and their contributions to the Council.

  • The June issue of Engage!, NWBC's electronic newsletter, is now available. Engage! is distributed via email to to leaders in goverment and the women's business community to communicate current issues affecting women business owners and entrepreneurs.  To receive future issues of Engage! via email, send your contact information to allison.gilmore@sba.gov.
  • Members of the National Women's Business Council often speak about women's business ownership at events across the country.  To invite a Council member to speak at an upcoming event, email us at info@nwbc.gov.
  • Join the Women's Business Connection, a FREE monthly, nationwide conference call on issues of importance to women business owners.  Calls are held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, last from 45-60 minutes, are toll-free, and no advance registration is required.
