Needs assessments
When most large technology projects start, there are typically more unknowns than knowns. Who's going to host it? Who will be responsible for the content and what kind of approvals will they need? How is it going to interface with your back office tools? Even faced with these unknowns, project managers are often faced with the impossible challenge of getting a quote for what it would cost to build.
For that reason, we begin most of our engagements with a formal needs assessment wherein we'll climb into your shoes and collaborate with you to fully understand your requirements, interview your stakeholders, investigate the technology landscape and ultimately help design a solution that will successfully solve your problems. At the end of this process, you have a detailed document outlining our plan and a development road map with schedules and estimates.
Based on the feedback we get from our clients, this is without a doubt the single most important phase of the process.
Information architecture and usability design
Information architecture is the art of structuring and displaying a site's content in such a way that users intuitively understand where they are within the site's structure. This is especially critical when you consider that most web visits don't begin on your homepage.
Usability design ensures that you'll know where to click without having to think about it. A well designed web application shouldn't require an instruction manual.
A mature development process
Our development methodology is an iterative process. Rather than building everything and then releasing it all at once, your site is released early and often (usually every two weeks) with each release going through the full lifecycle of development:
